The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Soares lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Javic really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Javic shoots in for a double leg but Soares sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Soares just misses with a punch to the body.
Soares clobbers Javic with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Soares looks to score with a jab to the body but Javic is just out of range.
Javic tries to clinch but Soares is having none of it.
Soares fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Soares throws a shot from downtown. Javic moves away and avoids it.
As Soares looks to move away, Javic throws a big counter combo bu Soares just gets out of the way.
Soares stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Soares wants it to stay on the feet.
Soares connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Soares slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

Oh Javic is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Soares scores with a crisp jab that stopped Javic in his tracks.

Javic takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Javic takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Soares jabs Javic right on the nose. Javic blinks but takes it well.
Javic tries to close the distance and clinch up but Soares swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Soares is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Javic had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The fighters circle momentarily. Soares darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Soares throws out a powerful jab.
Javic changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Soares tries to avoid it but Javic manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Soares to the ground. Soares escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Lucas Soares seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Soares drops Javic with a huge uppercut! Javic drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes. Soares is raining down punches and the ref stops the fight! This one is all over!
