Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Dimdim Dimdim! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Wladimir Karlsson! The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Chris Saunders and Paul Gruel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Karlsson rushes Dimdim and presses him up against the cage. Karlsson misses with a punch on the inside.
Karlsson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Karlsson shoots in for a takedown but Dimdim shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Dimdim appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Dimdim closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Dimdim lands in his opponent's guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Dimdim wants to control from the top but Karlsson keeps moving. Karlsson is adopting a defensive guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Dimdim passes Karlsson's left leg - he's now in half guard. Dimdim stops Karlsson from getting back to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Karlsson tries to roll over but Dimdim keeps him under control. Dimdim is looking to stall here but Karlsson recovers full guard. Dimdim pushes down on Karlsson's leg and manages to get into half guard. Karlsson tries to kick Dimdim off but Dimdim keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Karlsson is looking for a sweep. Dimdim is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Dimdim is looking for a kimura here.
Karlsson is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dimdim seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Karlsson does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Dimdim is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Karlsson has managed to free his arm - good work. Karlsson is defending against the submission attempts here by Dimdim.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Karlsson misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Dimdim.
The fight moves into the clinch position. Dimdim prevents a takedown attempt there.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Dimdim goes for a takedown in the clinch but Karlsson prevents it.
A bit of stalling here from Karlsson.
Karlsson creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses. Karlsson wants to break free but Dimdim has control.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! The referee is keeping an eye on Karlsson - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Dimdim is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Dimdim Dimdim will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Karlsson tries to clinch up but Dimdim circles away and keeps his distance. Karlsson goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Wladimir Karlsson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Dimdim shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Karlsson defends it nicely. Karlsson misses with a jab, cross combination.
Dimdim tries to score a power double leg takedown but Karlsson sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Dimdim somewhat. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Dimdim avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dimdim changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Karlsson tries to avoid it but Dimdim manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Karlsson to the ground. Karlsson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dimdim Dimdim. That's going to take a lot out of him. Dimdim shoots in and drives through. Karlsson sprawls well. Karlsson fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Dimdim avoids it really well and circles away. Karlsson darts in and clinches Dimdim up against the cage. Karlsson tries to break free but Dimdim pushes him back against the cage. Karlsson wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dimdim has hold of one of Karlsson's legs. Karlsson is fighting the takedown attempt but Dimdim gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. Karlsson is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Dimdim avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Dimdim is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Karlsson is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Karlsson has escaped and now he's on top! Dimdim avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Karlsson controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Karlsson being controlled here momentarily. Karlsson scoring with punches to the head and body. Karlsson drops back looking for a leg! Dimdim is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Dimdim manages to kick Karlsson off! Karlsson jumps back into Dimdim's guard. Dimdim keeping moving, preventing Karlsson from controlling successfully.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Karlsson missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Karlsson won't allow Dimdim to get back to his feet. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Karlsson stays in close to Dimdim's body and controls the position. Karlsson wants to control from the top but Dimdim keeps moving. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Wladimir Karlsson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Dimdim's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. And we move into the final round!

Dimdim slaps away a takedown attempt from Karlsson, before circling back to the center of the mat. Dimdim drops down looking for a counter takedown but Karlsson sprawls and moves away. Karlsson moves into the clinch. Karlsson pulls guard successfully.
Dimdim drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Karlsson dives on top into guard.

Dimdim Dimdim overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Karlsson is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Dimdim drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Karlsson dives on top into guard.

Dimdim is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Karlsson tries to stand but Dimdim is controlling from the bottom.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Dimdim shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Dimdim showed some decent athleticism there.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Dimdim Dimdim. I think Dimdim has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
