Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between KoKo Beware (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kenshin Suzuki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). KoKo Beware has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, KoKo Beware!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kenshin Suzuki!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Yukihiro Shimada and Yuuki Gou.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Suzuki gets cracked there but stands up to it.


It looks like Kenshin Suzuki has been cut.

Suzuki closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Beware to the mat! Beware manages to get full guard.
Beware is pulling down on Suzuki's head. It's preventing any offense from Suzuki, at least for the moment.
Beware keeping moving, preventing Suzuki from controlling successfully.

Beware escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Suzuki gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Beware is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Beware working for a triangle but Suzuki defends it easily.

Beware looking to hit a scissor sweep but Suzuki is one step ahead there.
Suzuki wants to control from the top but Beware keeps moving.

Beware looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Beware is looking for a triangle but Suzuki pushes his legs off easily.

Beware is breathing heavily.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Suzuki trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Suzuki stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Beware swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Suzuki stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Beware is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Suzuki.
Suzuki tries to clinch up but Beware circles away and keeps his distance.
Suzuki fails to land the takedown.
A big left from Beware misses.
Suzuki tries to clinch but Beware moves out of range.

Beware takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Suzuki doesn't manage to clinch there - Beware circles away.

Beware clinches up against the cage.
Beware keeps control of Suzuki as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Suzuki can't find room to land a body shot as Beware controls the action.
Beware letting Suzuki take a breather here.
Beware tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Suzuki with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Suzuki is trying to stall.
Suzuki lands a nice knee to the body.

Suzuki jumps guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Beware is working Suzuki over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Beware stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Suzuki swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Suzuki controls Beware momentarily but Beware frees himself.
Beware content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Beware loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The cut man is working on Kenshin Suzuki's cut.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Beware swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Beware throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Suzuki's waist but Suzuki gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Beware off to one side.

and Suzuki counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Beware's guard now.

Beware uses the cage to get back to his feet.

Suzuki has Beware up against the cage in a clinch.
Beware fails to pull guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for KoKo Beware. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Suzuki is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Beware tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Suzuki smiles and moves away.
Suzuki misses with a head kick.

Beware gets the takedown into side control.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Suzuki is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Suzuki is trying to control Beware's posture but Beware avoids it.
Suzuki takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

Beware tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Beware lands a nice forearm strike.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Suzuki sneaks out the side door and pushes Beware away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

Beware bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Suzuki wants to control but Beware postures up.
Suzuki is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Suzuki can't do much from the bottom here.
Suzuki tries to improve position but can't.
Suzuki manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Suzuki is trying to maintain the position but Beware is very close to passing his half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Beware working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Beware swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Suzuki counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Beware circles away from the clinch attempt

and Beware holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Suzuki trying to stall but Beware improves his position.
Suzuki scores a nice knee to the body.

Beware lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Beware sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Suzuki defending well though.
Beware working the head and body with strikes.
Suzuki tries to roll over but Beware keeps him under control.

Beware throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Beware seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Suzuki keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Beware passes into side control, despite Suzuki's attempt to control the position.
Suzuki struggling a bit here.

Beware tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Beware has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Suzuki can't do much from the bottom here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Beware tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Beware closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Suzuki slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Suzuki working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Beware doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Beware manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Beware is looking to work some ground and pound but Suzuki has wrist control.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Beware has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Suzuki is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Beware yanks on the arm and Suzuki is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Beware.
