Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Tonny Montana! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ricky Krahe! The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Mauricio Rocha and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Krahe shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Montana but Montana pushes him off and we're back to square one. Nice takedown defense from Montana. No joy for Krahe on that attempt. Montana appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body. Krahe closes this distance looking for a takedown but Montana circles away. Tonny Montana has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ricky Krahe. Montana gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Krahe makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Krahe works over Montana with some ground and pound from guard. Montana had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Krahe defends it easily. Montana is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Montana trying to control the position here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Montana wants to stand and escape but Krahe is having none of it. Krahe is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Montana pulls Krahe in close to his closed guard and prevents Krahe from doing any damage or advancing position. Montana controls Krahe momentarily but Krahe frees himself. Montana really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Krahe sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Montana's guard. Krahe maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Montana could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Krahe has cracked it and Montana is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Krahe!
