Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ramon Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brian Parker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ramon Jackson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Brian Parker!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Winston Howard and Chris Dean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Parker darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Jackson is looking to improve his position.
Parker working over Jackson with some ground and pound. Jackson looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.

Parker is working for a submission of some sort.
Parker wants to pass to mount but Jackson is defending the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jackson wants to get back to his feet.

Jackson holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
Parker looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Jackson is trying to stand back up but Parker is controlling him

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Parker closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Jackson's guard.

Jackson is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Parker is aware though and is defending well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Parker controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Jackson is trying to control the position but Parker postures up.
Jackson has momentary wrist control but Parker slips an elbow through the middle.
Parker is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Parker must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Jackson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Parker gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Parker shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Jackson's guard.
Parker won't allow Jackson to get back to his feet.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Parker is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Jackson is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Parker would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Parker postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Parker fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Parker wants to finish this one by submission but Jackson is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Parker.

Brian Parker showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!



Parker closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Jackson did well to prevent Parker getting side control.

Parker is stalling here. Jackson is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Parker seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Jackson has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Parker can do anything to dispel that myth.
Parker is trying to control Jackson's posture but Jackson avoids it.

Jackson tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Parker can't do much from the bottom here.
Parker is looking for a sweep.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Parker tries to improve position but can't.

Jackson goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Parker has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Jackson but great work by Parker.

Jackson is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Parker off and has taken his back!
Jackson has the hooks in. Parker is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Ramon Jackson.
Well Parker has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
