Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hugo Mccarthy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Darnell Singletary (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hugo Mccarthy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Darnell Singletary!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Cecil Peabody and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Singletary takes a swing at Mccarthy's ribcage but misses.
Singletary throws a nice inside leg kick.

Singletary has managed to clinch.
Mccarthy is trying to push Singletary away but Singletary has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Mccarthy wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Mccarthy misses with a knee strike.

Singletary has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Mccarthy is trying to keep an underhook but Singletary manages to get the takedown into half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Singletary is figuring out what he wants to do next.
It looks like Singletary is going to stand back up.

Mccarthy looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Singletary seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Singletary wants to free his trapped foot but Mccarthy is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Mccarthy is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Mccarthy tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Singletary manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Mccarthy gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Singletary to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Singletary stands up and waves to Mccarthy to follow him.

Singletary shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Singletary was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Mccarthy is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Singletary's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

Mccarthy tries to roll over but Singletary keeps him under control.
Singletary tries to stand but can't do so whilst Mccarthy controls his leg.

Singletary stands up and beckons Mccarthy to join him on the feet.
Singletary throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Singletary trying to control the position but Mccarthy is working away.

Singletary decides to stand back up.
Singletary misses with a left hand

and Mccarthy counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Singletary looking to hit a scissor sweep but Mccarthy is one step ahead there.

Mccarthy decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Singletary, up you get!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Singletary drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Mccarthy working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Singletary doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Singletary manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Singletary is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Mccarthy's half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Singletary is breathing heavily.
Singletary is stalling here. Mccarthy is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Singletary seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Mccarthy has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
Mccarthy throwing strikes but Singletary manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!

Darnell Singletary showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Mccarthy fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Singletary raises up his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.

Singletary drives through with a takedown into Mccarthy's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Singletary wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Mccarthy is now in half guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Mccarthy has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Singletary is proving hard to escape from.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Singletary is working an open guard so Mccarthy takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Mccarthy avoids a punch combination nicely.

Singletary escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Singletary has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Mccarthy gets tackled into the cage by Singletary. Singletary maintains the clinch.
Singletary keeps control of Mccarthy as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Singletary is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Mccarthy can't fight it off and eventually Singletary manages to take the fight to the floor. Mccarthy looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Singletary takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Mccarthy has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Singletary doesn't defend quickly enough and Mccarthy has managed to lock this one up! Can Singletary escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Mccarthy on a fantastic submission victory.
