PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Wojtek Dur (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Hert (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Wojtek Dur!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Chris Hert!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Franklyn Lucas and Dean Styles.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dur wants to clinch but Hert slips to the side

and Hert counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

Hert thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Dur's head.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Hert connects with a nice short shot to Dur's temple.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Dur has his foot on Hert's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Hert works his way back into a safe position though.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

No joy there for Dur, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
It seemed like Hert was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Hert has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
A head kick from Dur lands but Hert takes it in his stride.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Dur looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Hert has picked Dur up and slammed him! Dur can't keep hold of the triangle and Hert manages to pass to side control!

Dur is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.

I've got Hert winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
