The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A decent looking cross lands there for Morrow.
Nicholas drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Morrow tries to bench press Nicholas off him but Nicholas keeps the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Nicholas works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Nicholas has knee on belly and moves into mount.

Nicholas has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Morrow tries to hold on but Nicholas pushes him away.
Nicholas lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Morrow is desperately trying to improve his position but Nicholas has a good base and remains in mount.
Nicholas breaks from Morrow's wrist control and lands an elbow.
