Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Atoya (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Moses Stepp (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Atoya! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Moses Stepp! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Tiny Johnson and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Atoya tries to keep at a distance but Stepp has taken the fight into the clinch. Atoya manages to pull guard.
Stepp throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Atoya works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Atoya knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Stepp on the ground. Stepp trying to control but Atoya is working from the bottom. Stepp working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Stepp in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Atoya keeping moving, preventing Stepp from controlling successfully. Stepp is looking to work some ground and pound but Atoya has wrist control. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Stepp chips away with some ground and pound. Stepp working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Atoya's head. Atoya is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
That's one minute gone in the round. Stepp throws a big right hand that misses. Stepp trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Atoya on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Atoya tries to get out of the position. Stepp is working Atoya over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Atoya avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Stepp keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Atoya's head. Atoya is trying to control the position but Stepp postures up. Stepp loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Stepp lands a couple of decent looking shots. Stepp chips away with some ground and pound. Stepp connects with a couple of short punches. Stepp throwing strikes but missing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Atoya keeping moving, preventing Stepp from controlling successfully. Stepp in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Stepp makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Stepp trying to control the position from guard on top but Atoya is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Atoya wants to sweep here but Stepp controlling him for the moment. Stepp missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Stepp throws a big elbow that misses.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Atoya moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Stepp pushes Atoya up against the cage in a clinch. Stepp breaks from the clinch.
Atoya looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Atoya wants to clinch up but Stepp keeps it at a distance. Atoya is looking to clinch but Stepp is avoiding it.
Stepp sizes up Atoya with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Atoya gets tackled into the cage by Stepp. Stepp maintains the clinch. Stepp has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Atoya with an attempt at a knee that misses.
A short right from Stepp. Stepp lands a right hand. Stepp lands a right hand.
It looks like John Atoya has been cut. Atoya gets underhooks to prevent Stepp's takedown attempt.
Stepp breaks from the clinch.
Stepp darts in and clinches Atoya up against the cage. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Stepp lands with a light punch inside. A knee to the head by Atoya.
It looks like Moses Stepp has been cut.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Stepp wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Stepp gets through Atoya's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Atoya connects with a nasty looking knee right to Stepp's face.
Atoya is defending well against a takedown attempt. Stepp breaks from the clinch.
Stepp scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Left hook, right uppercut from Stepp. Stepp lands with an overhand left. Stepp uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Stepp swats away the attempt to clinch by Atoya. Stepp jabs Atoya right on the nose. Atoya blinks but takes it well. Stepp connects with a single shot there. Stepp gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Moses Stepp dominated that round. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Atoya takes a jab right on the kisser.
John Atoya is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Atoya swings for the body but Stepp moves out of range.
Stepp takes the fight into the clinch. Stepp wants to break free but Atoya has control.
Atoya blocks an uppercut.
Stepp lands with a short head shot on the inside. Atoya gets underhooks to prevent Stepp's takedown attempt.
Stepp wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Stepp breaks the clinch.
Good standup being displayed there by Stepp as he connects with a hook. Stepp with a jab. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Stepp rushes Atoya and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. A frustrated look appears on Stepp's face as he tries to break the clinch. Moses Stepp seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far. Atoya tries to land a knee to the head but Stepp blocks with his arms.
Atoya pulls guard successfully.
Stepp content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
That's one minute gone in the round. Stepp postures up in Atoya's guard and throws a big left but Atoya blocks it. Stepp lands a couple of decent looking shots. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Stepp's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Stepp working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Stepp has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Stepp accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Stepp lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Stepp. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man. Stepp is looking to work some ground and pound but Atoya has wrist control. Stepp throwing strikes from guard but Atoya blocks nicely. Stepp throws a big elbow that misses. Stepp is in close to Atoya's body, working some short punches and elbows.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Stepp postures up in Atoya's guard and throws a big left but Atoya blocks it. Stepp works over Atoya with some ground and pound from guard. Stepp is looking to work some ground and pound but Atoya has wrist control. Stepp pushes down on Atoya's leg and manages to get into half guard. Atoya blocking the ground and pound attempt from Stepp. Stepp landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Stepp has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Stepp throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Stepp working Atoya over with strikes. Atoya avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Stepp.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Stepp drops an elbow to the side of Atoya's head. Stepp working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Stepp is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Stepp lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Stepp looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Atoya with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Stepp passes to full mount! Stepp looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Stepp is in the full mount, landing strikes. Stepp lands a nice shot to the head.
Atoya is rocked!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Atoya takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Stepp's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.
