Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hiram Zamora (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daniel Ribeiro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Daniel Ribeiro has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Hiram Zamora!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Daniel Ribeiro !
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Damien Edna and Ben Hemmingworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ribeiro throws a sloppy head kick and Zamora moves out of range easily.
It looked like Zamora was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

Ribeiro has closed the distance and engaged Zamora in a clinch.
Zamora has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Zamora tries to pull guard but Ribeiro forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Zamora taking a breather.
Ribeiro is trying to force a seperation but Zamora has the dominant position.
Zamora is trying to maintain a safe position but Ribeiro gets an underhook and turns Zamora into the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ribeiro tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Zamora smiles and moves away.
Zamora tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Ribeiro manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Ribeiro tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Zamora really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Zamora throws a body shot but no joy.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Zamora tries to score a power double leg takedown but Ribeiro sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Zamora somewhat.
A looping hook to the body misses from Zamora. Ribeiro does a little dance to reset his feet.
An inside leg kick lands from Ribeiro .
Ribeiro shoots in looking for a takedown. Zamora tries to sprawl out of it but Ribeiro keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Zamora manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Ribeiro gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Zamora is looking for a takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hiram Zamora. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Zamora jumps into guard, dragging Ribeiro to the mat.

Zamora has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Ribeiro can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Zamora will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Ribeiro controls from within his opponent's guard.
It looks like Ribeiro might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Ribeiro has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Zamora is proving hard to escape from.

Ribeiro really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Zamora. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Ribeiro postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Ribeiro looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Ribeiro must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Zamora gets full guard.

Zamora is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Ribeiro stays in close to Zamora's body and controls the position.
Ribeiro in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Zamora is trying to control the position but Ribeiro postures up.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Sloppy strikes from Ribeiro . Those never looked like landing.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Ribeiro pulls out of a head kick attempt.
As Ribeiro tries to get set, Zamora tries to push him back and clinch up but Ribeiro manages to avoid the attempt.
Zamora closes the distance looking to clinch
and Ribeiro counters with a nice body shot.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ribeiro shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Zamora as he avoids it easily.
Ribeiro throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Zamora's waist but Zamora gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Ribeiro off to one side.
Zamora tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Ribeiro paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Ribeiro only half commits to the counter leg kick.

Zamora throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Ribeiro tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Zamora is in Ribeiro 's guard.

Ribeiro is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Zamora drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Zamora jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Zamora is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Ribeiro controls Zamora momentarily but Zamora frees himself.
Ribeiro is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Zamora is controlling him.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Zamora will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Zamora tries to clinch up but Ribeiro circles away and keeps his distance.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Ribeiro is defended easily by Zamora.
Hiram Zamora has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Daniel Ribeiro .
Ribeiro is breathing heavily.

Zamora gets tackled into the cage by Ribeiro . Ribeiro maintains the clinch.
Ribeiro wants to get back to striking at distance but Zamora won't allow it.

Ribeiro is persisting with his attempts to control the action in the clinch, rather than do any real damage.

Zamora is pressed up against the cage. Ribeiro has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Zamora down to the mat. Zamora avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Ribeiro closes the distance and pushes Zamora back into the cage.
Ribeiro tries to circle away but Zamora has him pinned against the cage.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Zamora ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Zamora no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Zamora is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Zamora is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Zamora leaves Ribeiro with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Ribeiro is trying to push Zamora away but Zamora has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Ribeiro can do anything to dispel that myth.

Ribeiro is looking to control Zamora's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Ribeiro avoid being mounted?

Hiram Zamora showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Zamora has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
