Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Korey Carney (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Guti Cardoso (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Korey Carney! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Guti Cardoso! The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Leandro Rodrigues and Emerson Jorge.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cardoso throws a sloppy head kick and Carney moves out of range easily. As Cardoso looks to move away, Carney throws a big counter combo bu Cardoso just gets out of the way. Carney darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Cardoso is looking to control Carney's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Cardoso avoid being mounted? Carney wants to take a breather but Cardoso is having none of it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Cardoso is looking to get back to full guard here but Carney has managed to pass to side control instead. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Cardoso defending against the ground and pound. You can see the frustration on Cardoso's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Carney working the body and head with strikes. Cardoso is looking for a sweep. Cardoso regains half guard. Carney thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Cardoso's head. Carney is keen to just control but Cardoso is a slippery customer. Well, if Carney is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Cardoso is looking to get back to is feet but Carney passes into side control.
Cardoso is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Carney asserts his dominance and retains side control. Cardoso is trying to control Carney's posture but Carney avoids it. Cardoso tries to get back to half guard but can't. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Carney gets caught napping as Cardoso dives in and scores a takedown. Carney manages to retain guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cardoso postures up.
Cardoso pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Carney is keeping the position for now. Carney is controlling Cardoso's posture. Carney can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Cardoso controls the pace. Carney can't keep his opponent in guard - Cardoso advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Carney wants to control but Cardoso is keeping busy and won't allow it. Carney is looking to improve his position.
Cardoso lands with a punch from half guard. Cardoso is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Carney is trying to control but can't.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Cardoso shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Carney bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Korey Carney dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Cardoso clinches. Cardoso gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Carney regains guard.
Carney could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Carney is trying to control the position but Cardoso postures up. Cardoso is looking to stand up but Carney won't let him. Cardoso loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Cardoso makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Cardoso postures up and lands a big shot to Carney's brow. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Cardoso gets to his feet - Carney follows without any prompting. Cardoso clinches with his opponent.
Cardoso manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
That's one minute gone in the round. Carney throws a strike but Cardoso rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Carney has his foot on Cardoso's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Cardoso works his way back into a safe position though. Cardoso trying to control the position from guard on top but Carney is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Cardoso sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Carney's guard. Cardoso looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Carney is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Cardoso pulls his head out easily. Carney knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Cardoso on the ground. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Carney is in trouble now - Cardoso has advanced to mount!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Carney really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Cardoso with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Cardoso controlling his opponent. Cardoso is in the full mount, landing strikes. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Carney is trying to escape the mount.
Cardoso is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Carney can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Carney wants to hold on but Cardoso pushes him away. Cardoso controlling his opponent. Cardoso landing strikes from the mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cardoso looking to control but Carney is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Cardoso with the ground and pound from mount. Cardoso is working for a guillotine from mount but Carney frees his head quite easily.

Guti Cardoso showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Carney's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!
Cardoso fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Carney to the ground. Cardoso is now in Carney's guard. Cardoso is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Cardoso looking to pass the guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Cardoso is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cardoso trying to control but Carney is working from the bottom. Cardoso stays in close to Carney's body and controls the position. Carney lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Cardoso is looking to stand up but Carney isn't so interested in that idea.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Carney lands a couple of decent looking shots. Carney won't allow Cardoso to sweep him here. Cardoso is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Cardoso is pressing down on Carney's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Cardoso trying to control the position.
Cardoso lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Carney looking to hit a scissor sweep but Cardoso is one step ahead there. Cardoso wants to stand but Carney has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Carney has his foot on Cardoso's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Cardoso works his way back into a safe position though. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Cardoso controlling from the top position.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Cardoso tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Carney swivels and escapes. Cardoso shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Cardoso was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Cardoso has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Carney! Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Carney wants to control but Cardoso is having none of it. Cardoso looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
And that's the end of the fight! Guti Cardoso comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Cardoso has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
