Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Woima Karhu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Max Kaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Karhu might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to House of Pain - Jump Around. Max Kaz has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
22 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Woima Karhu! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
16 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Max Kaz! The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Trevor Gratis and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A telegraphed right hand from Karhu misses the target. Kaz attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. Kaz fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Karhu has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Karhu drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Karhu stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kaz swivels though and keeps the full guard. Kaz tries to land a sweep but no joy. Karhu trying to control the position from guard on top but Kaz is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Kaz has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Karhu wants to control from the top but Kaz keeps moving.
That's one minute gone in the round. Karhu drops back looking for a leg! Kaz is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Kaz manages to kick Karhu off! Karhu jumps back into Kaz's guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Karhu trying to control but Kaz is working from the bottom. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Kaz is on top in guard.
Karhu is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Kaz defends well. Karhu is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Kaz is aware though and is defending well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Karhu has his hands on Kaz's head, controlling the position. Karhu seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission. Kaz wants to control from the top but Karhu keeps moving. Karhu throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Kaz slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Kaz stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Karhu swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kaz preventing the sweep. Kaz wants to get up but he can't break Karhu's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Karhu shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Max Kaz is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Kaz throws a low kick but it's checked well by Karhu. A solid leg kick lands there for Karhu.
Karhu throws a nice inside leg kick. Karhu fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Kaz is out of range. Kaz misses with a wild combination.
Karhu throws a body kick that misses. Karhu cracks Kaz with a right hand to the side of the head. Karhu tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Kaz throws a leg kick but Karhu sees it coming and checks it nicely. Karhu buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
That's four minutes gone in the round. An inside leg kick lands from Karhu. Kaz avoids the body shot from Karhu.

Karhu looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Karhu misses with a leg kick. Karhu lands with a nice body punch. Kaz fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Karhu has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. An inside leg kick from Kaz misses. Kaz misses with a leg kick. Karhu lands a leg kick that knocks Kaz off balance momentarily. Karhu throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Kaz was covering up waiting for the punch and Karhu finishes the takedown easily into guard. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Karhu looking to sit in guard and control but Kaz gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Woima Karhu dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Karhu cracks Kaz with a right hand to the side of the head. Karhu steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Kaz. That one must have hurt. Good shot there by Kaz. Karhu scores with a one two! Kaz had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. A head kick misses from Karhu. Kaz looks to land a left hand but Karhu moved out of range nicely. Karhu scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Kaz doesn't seem bothered though. Karhu buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Karhu has a takedown stuffed. Kaz throws a low kick but Karhu moves out of range easily. Karhu blocks a low kick nicely. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Kaz throws a leg kick that is checked and Karhu counters with a takedown into side control. Kaz is trying to get back to his feet. You can see the frustration on Kaz's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kaz is being controlled here. Kaz is trying to control Karhu's posture but Karhu avoids it. Kaz is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Karhu is staying active. Karhu working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Karhu trying to control the position but Kaz is working away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Kaz wants to get back to his feet.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Karhu rushes Kaz and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Kaz misses with a body punch.

With the fighters up against the cage, Kaz throws an elbow but misses. Kaz misses with a hook from the clinch. Kaz takes a shot to the head. Karhu taking a breather. Karhu blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Kaz throws an elbow that misses.
Both fighters working to control the clinch. Kaz lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Kaz has a couple of punches blocked by Karhu.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A battle for position here, against the cage. Kaz swings wildly with an uppercut but Karhu uses good head movement to avoid it. Kaz tries to throw a body punch but Karhu avoids it by throwing Kaz back against the cage. Karhu breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Karhu throws a leg kick that misses. Karhu tries to close the distance and clinch up but Kaz swats him away and circles back towards the center. Karhu tries a head kick but it misses.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Kaz shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Kaz staying out of range there. Kaz avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Karhu is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Kaz can do to turn this around? Kaz throws a leg kick but Karhu checks it. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Karhu gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Kaz. Karhu bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick. Karhu looks to score with a jab to the body but Kaz is just out of range. Karhu swings and misses with a shot to the body and Kaz counters with a nice body kick.
Kaz tries to close the distance and clinch up but Karhu swats him away and circles back towards the center. Kaz misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Karhu.
Karhu fires out a quick counter leg kick but Kaz just manages to avoid it. Kaz tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target. Karhu fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Kaz looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Karhu tries a low kick but Kaz avoids it. Good standup being displayed there by Kaz as he connects with a hook. Kaz misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Woima Karhu dominated that second round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Karhu throws a looping overhand right but Kaz ducks down to avoid it. Nice uppercut lands for Kaz. That snapped Karhu's head back.

Max Kaz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. That kick from Karhu tenderised Kaz's leg. Kaz is trying to keep his angry face on. Karhu misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Kaz.

Karhu uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Kaz. Kaz uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Karhu. Kaz looks like he wanted to counter with a high kick but didn't throw it. Kaz looks to land a right hand but Karhu moved out of range. Kaz throws a solid leg kick but Karhu takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Kaz. Karhu tries to counter with a takedown but Kaz is quick to defend against it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Karhu takes a swing at Kaz's ribcage but misses. Kaz fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Karhu manages to avoid it. Karhu ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Kaz throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Karhu stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Karhu checks a leg kick. Karhu connects with a body shot. Kaz misses with a low kick. Karhu feinted with a counter takedown. Kaz throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Kaz gets tackled into the cage by Karhu. Karhu maintains the clinch. Karhu is trying to maintain a safe position but Kaz gets an underhook and turns Karhu into the cage. Kaz creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses. Kaz misses with a punch on the inside.

Kaz's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down. Karhu looking to slow down the pace here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kaz throws a punch but it's blocked by Karhu. Kaz tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Karhu breaks from the clinch.

Woima Karhu is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Karhu checks a leg kick. Karhu with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Karhu looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Kaz! Kaz is not content to let Karhu control the position.
And that's the end of the fight! Woima Karhu showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Karhu, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
