Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jake Struve!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
3 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, AleksandrMessi KarelinPalmeiras!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Daniel Blasius and Patrick Alders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
KarelinPalmeiras tries to clinch there but Struve circles away.
Struve attempts a counter takedown but KarelinPalmeiras avoids it well and moves away.
Struve lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
KarelinPalmeiras drives through and clinches with Struve against the cage.
Struve pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Struve, right into the meat.
Struve throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
KarelinPalmeiras misses with a kick to the body
so Struve counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Struve is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Struve thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
KarelinPalmeiras wants to sweep but no luck.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Struve drops back looking for a leg! KarelinPalmeiras is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and KarelinPalmeiras manages to kick Struve off! Struve jumps back into KarelinPalmeiras's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Struve thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
That's one minute gone in the round.
KarelinPalmeiras can't keep his opponent in guard - Struve advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Struve is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and KarelinPalmeiras defends it well.
KarelinPalmeiras is trying to get back to full guard.
Struve maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! KarelinPalmeiras could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Struve has cracked it and KarelinPalmeiras is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Struve!
