With a record of 14 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, James Van Der Sluijs!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Chris Saunders and Jeff Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tate checks a low kick from Van Der Sluijs.
Tate tries to land a front kick but Van Der Sluijs steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
We've been informed that Van Der Sluijs has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
A swing and a miss from Van Der Sluijs.
Van Der Sluijs tries a head kick but it misses.
Van Der Sluijs throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Tate cracks Van Der Sluijs with a right hand to the side of the head.
Van Der Sluijs scores with a nice strike.
Van Der Sluijs slips a jab and a cross from Tate.
Van Der Sluijs looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Van Der Sluijs scores with a sloppy right hand. Tate should have avoided that one.
Tate misses with a wild body shot.
Van Der Sluijs looks to land a combination but Tate avoids it well.

Van Der Sluijs throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Tate sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Tate swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Van Der Sluijs.
Van Der Sluijs takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Tate slips a straight right by Van Der Sluijs.
Van Der Sluijs misses with a two punch combination.
Tate wants to slow Van Der Sluijs down by chopping away at his legs.
Tate shoots and misses
letting Van Der Sluijs counter with a right hand.
Tate moves into range and lands a nice body kick.

A big left from Tate misses.
A telegraphed right hand from Van Der Sluijs misses the target.
A little feinted left hand from Tate on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Tate takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Van Der Sluijs misses with the body kick
and Tate counters with a body kick.
Tate tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Van Der Sluijs drops Tate with a beautiful combination! Tate stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Van Der Sluijs is looking for the KO!


Tate is rocked!
and Van Der Sluijs counters with a massive uppercut that badly hurts Tate! He's just covering up as Van Der Sluijs starts to tee off till the referee steps in and stops the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). James Van Der Sluijs!
