Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Magnus Scott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Patrick Willis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). He arrived on a last minute flight shortly after looking tired and unhappy. Officials decided the fight should still take place, much to the delight of the fans in attendance. Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Magnus Scott and Patrick Willis. Scott comes to the cage accompanied by Ironfist. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Magnus Scott! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Patrick Willis! The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Josh West and Chris Saunders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Willis circles away from the clinch attempt and Willis counters with a nice double leg into side control. Scott won't be happy with that. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. You can see the frustration on Scott's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Scott tries to get back to half guard but can't. The ground and pound from Willis seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Willis tries to move to mount but Scott blocks the move with his legs. Scott struggling a bit here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Scott tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Willis wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Scott is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Blitzkrieg Fighting Systems: Ground, so we'll see if he gets out of it. Scott can't do much from the bottom here. Willis misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Scott seems a little lost for a moment, as Willis dominates the positioning. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Scott wants to control but Willis postures up. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Scott stops Willis from passing to mount. Willis working the strikes but Scott uses the opportunity to regain half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Willis throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Scott is looking to control Willis's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Scott avoid being mounted? Willis thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Scott's head.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Scott tries to clinch and Willis counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Willis missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Scott wants to get back to full guard. Willis not landing any meaningful shots this time. Willis trying to control from half guard but Scott is working away. Willis trying to pass the guard but Scott defending well. Scott controlling the leg, holding on to half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Scott manages to get to full guard.
Willis stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Scott swivels though and keeps the full guard. Willis looking to sit in guard and control but Scott gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Scott will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Scott trying to control but Willis is working from the bottom. Scott is stalling in the full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Willis is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Scott pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Willis is keeping the position for now. Willis is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Scott trying to control but Willis is working from the bottom. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Willis wants to stand up but Scott is controlling him.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Scott is looking to clinch but Willis is avoiding it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Patrick Willis dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Willis will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Scott changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Willis tries to avoid it but Scott manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Willis to the ground. Willis escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Scott tries to close the distance and clinch but Willis swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Scott tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. And Willis tries to counter it with a takedown but Scott pushes his down on his head and steps out. Scott throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Willis's waist but Willis gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Scott off to one side. Willis scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Willis tries to score with some ground and pound. Scott controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Willis in side control, just content to control the action for now. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Scott avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Willis.
That's one minute gone in the round. Scott on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Willis in side control, throwing shots but Scott defends. Willis working away. Willis in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. Willis working away. Scott dodges the ground and pound from Willis. Scott is trying to control Willis's posture but Willis avoids it. Scott managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Willis.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Willis is trying to ground and pound but Scott uses the momentary lack of control by Willis to regain half guard. Willis misses with a head shot. Scott uses the momentum to regain guard. Scott controls Willis momentarily but Willis frees himself.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Willis slaps away a takedown attempt from Scott, before circling back to the center of the mat. Willis feints the counter takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Magnus Scott. That's going to take a lot out of him. Scott gets caught flat footed, as Willis shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Scott wants to sweep but no luck. Willis with a flurry of punches that miss. Willis throws a strike but Scott rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Willis is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Scott is controlling him. Willis pushes Scott off and scrambles back to his feet.
Scott fails with the takedown. The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Willis. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man. Scott on the wrong end of a nice hook. Willis leaves Scott with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. A little jabbing left from Willis on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Scott has his takedown stuffed and Willis counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Scott is rocked! Willis is sitting in half guard. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, Scott is hurt! He's hurt bad - Willis fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save Scott from any more punishment! Congratulations to Willis! Great finish!
