Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gonna Slapaho!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, TJ Roberts!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Stewart Dunkirk and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Slapaho closes the distance and clinches up with Roberts, looking for a takedown. Slapaho pushes Roberts against the cage but Roberts circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Slapaho keeps the fight on the outside.
Roberts throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Slapaho closes the distance and clinches up with Roberts, looking for a takedown. Slapaho pushes Roberts against the cage but Roberts circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Slapaho shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Roberts but Roberts pushes him off and we're back to square one.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gonna Slapaho. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Slapaho closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Slapaho lands in his opponent's guard.
Slapaho has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Roberts looking to hit a scissor sweep but Slapaho is one step ahead there.
Slapaho seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Roberts is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Roberts tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Slapaho not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Slapaho knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Roberts on the ground.
Slapaho has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Roberts to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Slapaho is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Roberts pulls down on the head and he's put Slapaho to sleep! This one is all over!
