Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Reggie Anderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kisuke Urahara (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Anderson might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to The Champ is Here. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Kisuke Urahara was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
23 - 7 - 2, fighting out of New York, Reggie Anderson! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
16 - 10 - 2, fighting out of Tokyo, Kisuke Urahara! The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Jorge Garcia and Alyssa Summers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Urahara moves out of range of the body kick. Urahara takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Urahara needs to keep his hands up - Anderson had a free shot at his head there. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Urahara has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Anderson looks to throw the jab but Urahara is out of range. Urahara is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch. Anderson throws a hook to the side of Urahara's head but Urahara sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Urahara moves out of range as Anderson strikes. Urahara shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Anderson's guard. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Anderson is on top in guard.
Anderson throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Urahara works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Urahara working for submissions but it's allowed Anderson to get to half guard.
Anderson is trying to control. Urahara wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Urahara is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Anderson pulls his head out easily. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Urahara has his foot on Anderson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Anderson works his way back into a safe position though. Urahara avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Anderson definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Urahara had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Anderson defends it easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Anderson avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Anderson passes into half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Anderson takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Urahara looking for submissions off his back. Urahara looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Anderson is looking for a kimura but Urahara is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Anderson to get the leverage. Urahara is trying to control but can't.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Anderson prevents Urahara from improving his position.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Urahara throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Anderson on the side of the head. Anderson with a jab. Urahara throws a wild combination but nothing lands. A swing and a miss from Anderson. Anderson fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Urahara. Anderson misses the shot to the body. Anderson scoring well with a low kick there.

Urahara replies with a solid counter kick to the body but Anderson blocks it well. Urahara rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Anderson moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Anderson misses with a wild body shot. Anderson dips down and scores with a jab to the body. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. A solid leg kick lands there for Urahara.

Anderson looking to hit a scissor sweep but Urahara is one step ahead there. Anderson has control of Urahara's left arm, preventing Urahara from doing any damage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Urahara throws a big right hand that misses. Urahara trying to control the position from guard on top but Anderson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Urahara throws a big right hand that misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Anderson looking to sweep here. No luck so far. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Urahara in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Kisuke Urahara has got the better of the ground game so far. Anderson trying to keep a closed guard but Urahara is proving a slippery customer.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Anderson bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Anderson takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Urahara lands a nice hook to Anderson's body. Anderson takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Kisuke Urahara seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. The fighters circle momentarily. Anderson darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Urahara throws a quick inside leg kick. Urahara lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Urahara fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Anderson appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Anderson throws a lazy body kick and Urahara connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Anderson takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Anderson throws a hook but Urahara avoids it easily. This has been an exciting period of action! Urahara tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Anderson was well out of range. Poor timing from Urahara.

The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Anderson has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Anderson and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Urahara does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Anderson drops down looking for a counter takedown but Urahara sprawls and moves away. Urahara keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

Urahara will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

That was a close round but Reggie Anderson did the better work so I'd imagine he'll take it. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Urahara is wobbling all over the place through exhaustion. Will he make it to the final bell? Anderson moves out of range of the strikes. Anderson tries to counter with a takedown but Urahara is quick to defend against it. Urahara throws a lazy head kick and Anderson counters with a nice double leg into side control. Urahara won't be happy with that. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Urahara can't do much from the bottom here. Urahara is looking for a sweep. Urahara taking a bit of punishment here - Anderson scoring with strikes. Anderson is chipping away with strikes.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Urahara is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Urahara passes easily into side control. Nice work. Urahara is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Anderson is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Anderson can't do much from the bottom here. Anderson is looking to regain half guard here but Urahara keeps moving and retains side control.

Urahara is landing with some decent strikes but Anderson is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Urahara avoids the attempt from Anderson to control. Anderson manages to work a leg through to get back to half guard here. Good work there by Anderson, under a barage of strikes from Urahara.

And that's the end of the fight! Kisuke Urahara comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Urahara has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

In favor of your winner, by unanimous decision... Kisuke Urahara! Kisuke Urahara is the new welterweight champion! Kisuke Urahara really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Museum of Monsters & Madmen logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
