Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Pat Sharp (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Piotr Kogel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sharp's entrance music is Funhouse. A fine choice. Pat Sharp has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Pat Sharp! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Piotr Kogel! The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Bart Greer and Dirk Anderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sharp lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. A kick lands to the mid section there for Kogel. Kogel misses with a wild body shot. Sharp on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Kogel throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
It looks like Pat Sharp has been cut. Kogel throws a front kick that sends Sharp stumbling back into the cage. Kogel pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Sharp attempts a counter takedown but Kogel avoids it well and moves away. Kogel closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Kogel using the Thai clinch to land knees to the body.
Kogel stalls. Kogel lands a knee to the body.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Sharp wants to break free but Kogel has control.
Sharp takes a knee to the side of the body. We've been hearing reports that Sharp has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Kogel with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head. Kogel keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Sharp's efforts to push away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sharp takes a knee to the side of the body. Kogel landing knees to the head.
Sharp is trying to push Kogel away but Kogel has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Kogel with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head. Sharp pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. A head kick misses from Kogel. Kogel thumps Sharp with a low kick. Kogel throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Sharp on the side of the head. Kogel lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Sharp keeps the fight on the outside. Kogel throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Sharp avoids a kick to the body.
Donk. Sharp catches Kogel right on the button with a cross.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A looping hook to the body misses from Sharp. Kogel does a little dance to reset his feet. Kogel is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Kogel gets in close and instigates a clinch. Kogel landing knees to the head.

Sharp can't break the clinch.
The referee is keeping an eye on Kogel - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Kogel will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Sharp up against the cage. Sharp jumps guard but Kogel stands there with Sharp around his waist. Sharp gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Kogel lands a good knee to the midsection. Sharp won't want to take too many of those. Kogel is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace. Sharp pulls guard. Kogel would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Sharp wants to sweep here but Kogel controlling him for the moment. Sharp manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Kogel manages to get himself to full guard.
Sharp drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Sharp jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Sharp works a leg free and moves into half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sharp in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Kogel tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Sharp!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:27 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Pat Sharp! A very excited looking Pat Sharp made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
