Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Adalberto Hood (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brandon Jacobi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Adalberto Hood!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Brandon Jacobi!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Dean Styles and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jacobi drives through with a takedown into Hood's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Hood has his foot on Jacobi's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Jacobi works his way back into a safe position though.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hood lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Hood is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Jacobi pulls his head out easily.
Hood is breathing heavily.
Jacobi is controlling the pace.
Jacobi scoring with strikes to the body and head.
Jacobi keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Hood is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Jacobi jumps into side control!

Hood is not content to let Jacobi control the position.

Jacobi tries to advance to mount but Hood denies him.
Hood is trying to improve his position.
Hood manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Jacobi content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Jacobi seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Hood does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Jacobi rushes Hood and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Jacobi jumps into guard, dragging Hood to the mat.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Jacobi can do anything to dispel that myth.

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Jacobi. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Hood decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Jacobi, up you get!

Jacobi fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Hood to the ground. Jacobi is now in Hood's guard.

Hood is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hood looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Hood is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Jacobi trying to control the position from guard on top but Hood is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Jacobi has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Hood is looking for a triangle but Jacobi pushes his legs off easily.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Hood isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Jacobi stacks Hood on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Jacobi!

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Jacobi takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Hood keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Brandon Jacobi showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!



Jacobi moves into range and clinches up with Hood.
Hood tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Jacobi just stands there and leans against the cage.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
Hood has had enough of the clinch but Jacobi keeps him there for the moment.

Jacobi pulls guard successfully.
Hood sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Jacobi's guard.
Hood winds up and cracks Jacobi with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Hood could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Jacobi is trying to stand back up but Hood is controlling him
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hood is trying for a kimura here. Jacobi looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Hood wins by kimura!
