Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ronnie McDonald!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rory Williams!
The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Williams looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? McDonald is fending him off so far but Williams persists. Nope, McDonald circles away and we're back to standing.
Williams shoots in for a takedown but McDonald shows good takedown defense.
McDonald wants to clinch up but Williams keeps it at a distance.
Williams walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
McDonald scores with a one two! Williams had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
McDonald has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Death Valley Training Facility in the buildup to the fight.
Williams shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
McDonald throws a big counter combination but Williams scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Ronnie McDonald has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rory Williams.

McDonald takes the fight into the clinch.
Williams wants a takedown but no success here.
McDonald is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Williams drops down looking for an ankle pick but McDonald pulls his leg out and moves away.
McDonald with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

That's one minute gone in the round.
McDonald tries to clinch but Williams is having none of it.
McDonald misses with a wild combination.
Williams closes this distance looking for a takedown but McDonald circles away.
McDonald rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Williams moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Williams is trying hard to land a takedown here. McDonald sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
McDonald goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
McDonald closes the distance looking to clinch

and Williams counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Williams trying to control from McDonald's half guard. McDonald has other ideas though and has regained full guard.

Williams lying in McDonald's guard like a wet fish here, stalling away. McDonald decides he's had enough of all that nonsense - he escapes his hips and locks up an armbar! Wow, that was slick! Williams taps! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Ronnie McDonald!
