Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Talhes Carvalho (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Axel Goku (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Talhes Carvalho could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Axel Goku's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Talhes Carvalho!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Axel Goku!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Ben Hemmingworth and Steve Erwin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Goku fails with a takedown attempt.
Goku misses with a takedown attempt - Carvalho sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Goku dives in and grabs Carvalho's left leg, looking for a takedown. Carvalho pushes down on Goku's head and hops out.
Talhes Carvalho has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Axel Goku.
Goku fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Carvalho, pushing him back against the cage.
Goku tries for a takedown. No joy.
Carvalho is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Goku breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Carvalho avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Carvalho shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Carvalho was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Carvalho has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
The fight stays on the outside here - Goku looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Goku will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Carvalho closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Goku did well to prevent Carvalho getting side control.
Carvalho is working for a submission of some sort.
Carvalho thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Goku's head.
Carvalho works his way into side control.
Goku wants to control but Carvalho postures up.
Carvalho looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Goku stops Carvalho from passing to mount.

Carvalho wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Goku, who protects the arm well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Carvalho throwing strikes but missing, from side control.
Goku avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Carvalho.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Goku wants to get back to his feet.
Goku sneaks back into half guard.
Carvalho sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Goku defending well though.
Goku tries to kick Carvalho off but Carvalho keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Goku trying to control here but he's found himself mounted! Oh no!

Goku is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Carvalho lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Goku hang on?
Carvalho has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Carvalho breaks from Goku's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Carvalho scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Goku?
Goku tries to lock up and control but Carvalho gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Goku keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Carvalho is landing with some decent strikes but Goku is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Goku tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Carvalho is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Goku to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Goku shrugs it off.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Carvalho tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Goku shoots in looking for a takedown but Carvalho manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Goku's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Carvalho fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Goku to the ground. Carvalho is now in Goku's guard.
Carvalho might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Carvalho would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Carvalho drops back looking for a leg! Goku is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Goku manages to kick Carvalho off! Carvalho jumps back into Goku's guard.
Carvalho postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Goku is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Goku utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Carvalho working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Goku misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Carvalho tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Goku fails in his attempt to clinch.
Goku changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Carvalho looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Carvalho wants to get back to his feet.

Carvalho tries to bench press Goku off him but Goku keeps the position.
Carvalho is trying to get back to his feet.
Carvalho gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.

The fighters are battling for position here. Carvalho manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Goku trying to control the position from guard on top but Carvalho is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Carvalho had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Goku defends it easily.

Goku wants to control from the top but Carvalho keeps moving.
Carvalho is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Goku rolls with it to try and escape but Carvalho cranks on the arm and Goku is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
