Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Greg Doyle!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Te Guruma!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, James Glass and Sam Margolis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Doyle is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Doyle jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Doyle connects with a body shot.
Guruma changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Doyle tries to avoid it but Guruma manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Doyle to the ground. Doyle escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Guruma throws a leg kick but Doyle checks it.
Guruma shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Doyle pinned against the cage. Doyle gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Doyle lands a glancing blow to the side of Guruma's head.
Guruma misses with a head kick.
Guruma takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Doyle clobbers Guruma with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
It looks like Te Guruma has been cut.
Doyle with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Doyle fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Guruma is rocked!
Doyle feints a kick and comes over the top with a right hand, followed by a left hook - both land, sending Guruma crashing to the mat! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:41 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Greg Doyle!
