Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Maki Pulu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Dotson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pulu comes to the cage accompanied by Alive. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pulu shoots in for a takedown but Dotson shows good takedown defense.
Dotson has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Pulu.
Pulu looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Dotson lunges at Pulu with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Pulu's hand.
Dotson stuffs the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Maki Pulu. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Dotson misses with an uppercut. Pulu saw that one coming.
Pulu shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Dotson as he avoids it easily.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Pulu shoots in looking for a takedown but Dotson manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Pulu's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Pulu shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Dotson pinned against the cage. Dotson gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Dotson missing with a left hand there. Pulu was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Pulu shoots for a double leg takedown but Dotson sprawls well. He's pushed Pulu's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Dotson fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Pulu is looking for a counter combo.
Dotson rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Pulu moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

and Pulu takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Dotson slips under a jab from Pulu.
Dotson misses with a few strikes there.
Pulu is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Dotson.
Dotson throws a good cross that connects.
Pulu looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Pulu has a takedown stuffed.
Dotson swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Pulu uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Dotson.
Chris Dotson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Dotson lands with an uppercut that bounces Pulu off the cage and back into range.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Pulu fails with the takedown.

Pulu shoots in and drives through. Dotson sprawls well.
Dotson feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Pulus jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Pulu looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Dotson!

Pulu has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Dotson is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Pulu yanks on the arm and Dotson is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Pulu.
