The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Preston shoots in looking for a takedown but Perez manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Preston's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Perez throws a shot from downtown. Preston moves away and avoids it.
Preston thinks about countering with a head kick.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Preston is defended easily by Perez.
Perez has closed the distance and engaged Preston in a clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
