Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nikita Cherkasky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Big Nog (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Big Nog has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Nikita Cherkasky!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Big Nog!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Seu Braga and Daniel Cesar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Cherkasky looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Nog misses with a low kick.
Horrible takedown attempt by Nog or perhaps it was just good defense by Cherkasky, which made it look bad.
Cherkasky seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Nog is looking to land body kicks.
Nog moves to clinch but Cherkasky breaks away

and Cherkasky counters with a shoot takedown. Nog fights it but they end up in guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nog will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Cherkasky advances position into side control!

You can see the frustration on Nog's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Cherkasky definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Nog tries to bench press Cherkasky off him but Cherkasky keeps the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Cherkasky swings around for an armbar but Nog sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Cherkasky's guard.
Cherkasky wants to sweep here but Nog controlling him for the moment.
Nog wants to control from the top but Cherkasky keeps moving.
Cherkasky on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Cherkasky tries to get out of the position.
Nog won't allow Cherkasky to sweep him here.

Cherkasky is looking for a triangle here but Nog uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Cherkasky might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Nog tries to stand but Cherkasky is controlling his head.

Nog tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Nog in side control, throwing shots but Cherkasky defends.
Nog wants to control but Cherkasky is keeping him busy.
Nog advances to full mount.
Cherkasky bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Cherkasky missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Nog manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Cherkasky manages to get himself to full guard.

Cherkasky not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Nog is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Nog wants to pass the guard but Cherkasky is keeping the position.
Nog forces his way into half guard.
Nog prevents Cherkasky from standing back up.

Cherkasky is looking for a sweep. Nog is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Cherkasky tries to kick Nog off but Nog keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Nog trying to advance position but Cherkasky counters by regaining guard.
Cherkasky keeping moving, preventing Nog from controlling successfully.
Nog slips nicely into half guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

A close round but Big Nog will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Nog gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Cherkasky engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Cherkasky has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Nog looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nog is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Nog is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Nog looking for a sweep. Not yet Nog, not yet.
Cherkasky landing with the ground and pound.
Nog wants to stand but Cherkasky is controlling the position.

Nog is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Cherkasky has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Cherkasky passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Cherkasky cracks Nog with an elbow. That is naaassty.

Nog is looking for a sweep.
Nog trying to control but Cherkasky flips him over like a cheap hooker and has his back!
Cherkasky is trying to stick to Nog's back but Nog is turning into Cherkasky. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Cherkasky's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Nog.
Nog trying to stand up but can't free himself from Cherkasky's guard.

Cherkasky working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Nog doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Nog manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Nog trying to control the position from guard on top but Cherkasky is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Nog loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Nog drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Nog jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Nog is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Cherkasky is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Cherkasky has a closed guard, preventing Nog from standing up.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Nog throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Cherkasky's waist but Cherkasky gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Nog off to one side.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Nog wants to clinch up but Cherkasky keeps it at a distance.
Nog shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Cherkasky tries to counter by clinching up but Nog breaks away and moves out of range.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nikita Cherkasky dominated that second round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Nog shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Cherkasky sprawls well. Cherkasky wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Nog gets slowly back to his feet.
A combination from Nog does no damage.
Nog fails with an attempt to clinch.

Cherkasky shoots in and bounces Nog off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Cherkasky's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Cherkasky seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Cherkasky chips away with some ground and pound.
Nog trying to control the position.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Cherkasky accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Nog keeping moving, preventing Cherkasky from controlling successfully.
Cherkasky passes Nog's left leg - he's now in half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Cherkasky winds up and cracks Nog with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Cherkasky lands with a punch from half guard.
Cherkasky looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Nog with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Cherkasky lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

Cherkasky wants to work for an arm triangle but Nog is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Nog pushes Cherkasky off looking to stand but Cherkasky dives back in and keeps control.

Nog tries to get to full guard but Cherkasky has control of the leg.
Cherkasky performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Cherkasky thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Nog's head.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Nog stuffs the takedown attempt from Cherkasky. Cherkasky gets slowly back to his feet.
Nog has tried to improve his agility in the runup to this fight.
Cherkasky shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Nog sprawls well. Nog wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Cherkasky gets slowly back to his feet.

Nog closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Cherkasky lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Nog backwards.
Nog wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.

Cherkasky gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Nog regains guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Nikita Cherkasky showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Cherkasky has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
