Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cosmo Carboni (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dave Sherk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sherk has chosen Divinations by Mastodon as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
12 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Cosmo Carboni!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
10 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Dave Sherk!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Leandro Rodrigues and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sherk lands with a thumping leg kick.
Sherk shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Carboni sprawls well. Carboni wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Sherk gets slowly back to his feet.
A momentary lapse in concentration from Carboni enables Sherk to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Carboni manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Sherk pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Carboni is keeping the position for now.
Sherk trying to control the position from guard on top but Carboni is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Sherk is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Carboni knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Sherk on the ground.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sherk wants to control from the top but Carboni keeps moving.
Sherk throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Carboni works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Carboni is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Sherk trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Carboni cracks Sherk with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Carboni has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Sherk to stand back up!
Sherk is rocked!
It looks like Dave Sherk has been cut.
Sherk misses with a takedown attempt
and Carboni counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Sherk is still on wobbly legs! Can Carboni finish him?
Sherk looks winded!
Carboni fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Carboni cracks Sherk with a left hook right on the temple and Sherk goes down! He's out! Referee! Stop the fight! Carboni lands a few more punches before the dopey ref steps in - hopefully Sherk is OK!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Cosmo Carboni!
