Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
26 - 9 - 0, fighting out of London, Bartek Pietrzak! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
31 - 15 - 3, fighting out of New York, Bucky The Badger! The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The Badger scores with a crisp jab that stopped Pietrzak in his tracks. The Badger fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Pietrzak checks a leg kick nicely. The Badger looks to land a left hand but Pietrzak moved out of range nicely. Pietrzak drops down looking for a counter takedown but The Badger sprawls and moves away. We've been informed that The Badger has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. Pietrzak throws a low kick but The Badger avoids it. Pietrzak slips a jab from The Badger. Pietrzak tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and The Badger is able to avoid easily. Pietrzak fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Pietrzak blocks a head kick by The Badger.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Pietrzak cracks the inside of The Badger's front leg. Pietrzak takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. The Badger throws the left hand but Pietrzak avoids the punch easily. The Badger attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from The Badger. Pietrzak attempts a counter takedown but The Badger avoids it well and moves away.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! The Badger motions for Pietrzak to come forward. Bucky The Badger seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Pietrzak throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. The Badger misses with a low kick. Pietrzak drops down looking for a counter takedown but The Badger sprawls and moves away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The Badger connects with a solid leg kick. Pietrzak moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Pietrzak looks to land a left hand but The Badger moved out of range nicely. The Badger looks like he wants to counter punch here. The Badger uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Pietrzak. The Badger fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Pietrzak is out of range. Pietrzak ducks right into an uppercut from The Badger. Pietrzak blocks a head kick by The Badger.
Pietrzak appears to be looking for a counter takedown. The Badger swings away with a leg kick that misses. Pietrzak is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Pietrzak throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Pietrzak has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Pietrzak and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Pietrzak half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. The Badger misses with a right hand and Pietrzak counters with a shoot takedown. The Badger fights it but they end up in guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Pietrzak trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. The Badger trying to control the position.
The Badger pulls Pietrzak in close to prevent any damage. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The Badger keeping moving, preventing Pietrzak from controlling successfully. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Pietrzak chips away with some ground and pound. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Bucky The Badger will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

The Badger throws a hook to the side of Pietrzak's head but Pietrzak sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. The Badger scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. The Badger steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Pietrzak. The Badger fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Pietrzak moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. The Badger throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
The Badger ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Pietrzak.

The Badger pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. The Badger throws a quick inside leg kick.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The Badger lands a leg kick that knocks Pietrzak off balance momentarily. The Badger takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. A telegraphed right hand from Pietrzak misses the target. The Badger scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Pietrzak checks the leg kick nicely there.

Pietrzak closes the distance and clinches up with The Badger, looking for a takedown. Pietrzak pushes The Badger against the cage but The Badger circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Pietrzak dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on The Badger. That did some damage! Pietrzak throws a low kick, looking for The Badger's leg but The Badger calmly moves out of range. The Badger does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. The Badger fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Pietrzak has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. The Badger buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
The Badger has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The Badger tries to clinch up. The Badger displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Pietrzak throws out the jab. Pietrzak moves forwards but The Badger connects with a nice, crisp jab. Pietrzak looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. A little jabbing left from The Badger on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Pietrzak takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

The Badger throws a jab but it's blocked by Pietrzak. The Badger tries a low kick but Pietrzak avoids it. The Badger shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Pietrzak eats them both and turns towards The Badger to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. Pietrzak is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight. Pietrzak fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but The Badger is out of range. The Badger looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Nice uppercut there from Pietrzak. Pietrzak shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. The Badger manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Pietrzak tries to free his leg and advance position but The Badger is retaining full guard. The Badger looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Pietrzak throws a big elbow that misses. Pietrzak preventing the sweep. Pietrzak stands and throws The Badger's legs to the side, diving into side control. The Badger takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Pietrzak wants to lay and pray for a moment but The Badger keeps working. The Badger is trying to control Pietrzak's posture but Pietrzak avoids it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Bucky The Badger will probably get the nod - 10:9. That's time! Pietrzak's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

The Badger cracks Pietrzak with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. The Badger tries to work over Pietrzak's front leg with a kick but Pietrzak checks it. Pietrzak changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. The Badger misses with a series of wild punches.

Pietrzak postures up in The Badger's guard and throws a big left but The Badger blocks it. Pietrzak works a leg free and moves into half guard. Pietrzak trying to pass the guard but The Badger defending well. Pietrzak is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. The Badger doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Pietrzak. The Badger is trying to maintain the position but Pietrzak is very close to passing his half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Pietrzak tries to pass the half guard into mount. The Badger knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Pietrzak will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. The Badger trying to control but Pietrzak postures up.
The Badger is not content to let Pietrzak control the position.

Pietrzak throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck The Badger on the side of the head. The Badger looks to land a left hand but Pietrzak moved out of range nicely. Pietrzak appears to be looking for a counter takedown. The Badger lands a jab to the head.
The Badger doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. The fight moves into the clinch position. Pietrzak is trying to drag The Badger to the mat but The Badger just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Pietrzak wants the takedown. The Badger is fighting it off but Pietrzak persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in The Badger's guard against the cage. Not yet Pietrzak, not yet. Pietrzak is working hard here to advance position. Bartek Pietrzak overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. The Badger seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
