Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Noz Gurreff (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alexi Takala (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Noz Gurreff!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 18 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Alexi Takala!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Gregory Folan and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gurreff lands a slapping body shot.
Gurreff digs a good body shot into Takala's ribs.

Gurreff pushes Takala up against the cage in a clinch.
Takala blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Takala being controlled against the cage.
Gurreff pushes Takala back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.

Gurreff pulls Takala into guard.
Takala trying to control the position from guard on top but Gurreff is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Gurreff trying to keep a closed guard but Takala is proving a slippery customer.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Takala is looking to work some ground and pound but Gurreff has wrist control.
Gurreff keeping moving, preventing Takala from controlling successfully.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Gurreff wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Takala is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Gurreff is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Gurreff has escaped and now he's on top!

Gurreff is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Gurreff trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Takala working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Gurreff has passed into half guard!
Takala trying to control here.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Gurreff is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Takala moves into full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Takala looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Takala looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Gurreff is pushing down on Takala's leg trying to pass to half guard. Takala is fighting to maintain full guard but Gurreff has managed to sneak the leg through.
Gurreff trying to control from half guard but Takala is working away.
Gurreff sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Takala defending well though.
Gurreff not doing much here.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Takala takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Gurreff lands a jab to the nose.
Gurreff throws a series of punches but Takala avoids them all with ease.
Gurreff seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Noz Gurreff seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A big right from Takala misses.
Takala has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Takala there as he acknowledges the shot.
Takala avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Gurreff circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Takala to the canvas! Takala doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Gurreff keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Noz Gurreff!
Noz Gurreff very nearly forgot to thank Soul Supremacy Nutrition (90% laundry) amongst all the excitement of his win but just as the interview came to a close, he screamed their name. Hopefully he'll get a few nice freebies in the mail as a thank you.
