The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Richards looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Chavo avoids a kick to the body.
Chavo tries to counter with a takedown but Richards is quick to defend against it.
Richards throws a nice head kick!
It looks like El Chavo has been cut.
Chavo bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Chavo walks into a stiff left hand from Richards.

We've been hearing reports that Chavo has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Richards wants to stand and escape but Chavo is having none of it.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
