The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck with that takedown attempt from James.
Dayne scores with a nice strike.
Dayne throws a right hand that James ducks under and follows up with a left that James also avoids with ease.
Dayne stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Dayne wants it to stay on the feet.

James shoots in for a takedown but Dayne shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

James takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

Dayne throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent James stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

James gets cracked there but stands up to it.
James is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Dayne connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.

James moves in looking to clinch but Dayne pushes him off.
James avoids the body shot from Dayne.
James shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Dayne as he avoids it easily.

James tries to move into range but Dayne moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Dayne will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

James looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Dayne is fending him off so far but James persists. Nope, Dayne circles away and we're back to standing.

James lands with a straight right. Dayne didn't see that one coming.

James takes one to the chin there.
Nice jab there from Dayne.
James moves out of range of the strikes.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from James! But no joy.
Dayne lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Dayne bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps James's head backwards.
Dayne throws a hook to the side of James's head but James sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
James is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
Dayne bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of James's head.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

James shoots for a double leg takedown but Dayne sprawls well. He's pushed James's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
James is still on wobbly legs! Can Dayne finish him?
Dayne connects with a jab and follows up with a big overhand right! Oh that's hurt James! He's out on his feet! Dayne rushes in and drops James with another big right hand, forcing the referee to stop the fight!
