Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Rico Morales! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Gerald Batalon! The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Dirk Anderson and Winston Alpacca.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Batalon closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Batalon wants to lay and pray for a moment but Morales keeps working. Morales keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount. Morales wants to improve his position but Batalon is controlling well.
Batalon wants to stand but Morales has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now. Morales wants to get back to full guard. Morales trying to hold on to Batalon's head to control him but Batalon postures up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Morales wants to improve his position but Batalon is controlling well.

Morales lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Batalon circles away quickly and effectively. Morales scores with the left hand. Batalon knows he should have avoided that one. Morales gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Batalon. Morales dodges the punch combination from Batalon.

Batalon shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Morales eats them both and turns towards Batalon to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. Morales gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Morales keeping moving, preventing Batalon from controlling successfully. Batalon wants to pass the guard but Morales is keeping the position. Morales wants to sweep but no luck. Batalon would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Morales holds on and takes a little breather.

Morales is trying to hold Batalon in close to prevent damage but Batalon has managed to pass into half guard.
Batalon is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Morales has managed to free his arm - good work. Batalon wants to pass to mount but Morales is defending the position. Morales is trying to get back to full guard. Batalon is keen to just control but Morales is a slippery customer.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Morales is doing well to control the position and prevent Batalon from advancing to side control.

Batalon can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Morales is looking to escape. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Batalon with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Gerald Batalon is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
And that's the end of the fight! Gerald Batalon comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Batalon has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today.
