Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Krejzi Kure (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yoshido Nakamara (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kure comes into the arena with BIG SHUG - who's hard blaring out of the sound system. Yoshido Nakamara has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Krejzi Kure!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Yoshido Nakamara!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Shigeki Sano and Shigeki Fujiwara.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nakamara fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Nakamara.
Kure is looking to counter punch.
Kure connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Nakamara uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Kure.
Nakamara drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Kure defends it well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nakamara looks for a takedown but Kure sprawls well.
Krejzi Kure has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Yoshido Nakamara.
Kure swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

It looks like Yoshido Nakamara has been cut.
Kure misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Nakamara.

Nakamara's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Kure connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Nakamara scrambles back to his feet.
Kure feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Nakamaras jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Krejzi Kure is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

and Nakamara decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Kure's guard.
Kure wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Nakamara seems to be looking for submissions.
Nakamara wants to take a breather but Kure is having none of it.

Nakamara tries to pass the half guard into mount. Kure knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Kure pushes Nakamara off but Nakamara dives into side control.
You can see the frustration on Kure's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Kure manages to work his way to half guard, despite Nakamara's best efforts.

Nakamara looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Kure is controlling Nakamara's trapped leg to prevent Nakamara from advancing to side control.
Kure tries to roll over but Nakamara keeps him under control.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Kure is trying to stand.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Nakamara shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Kure napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Nakamara tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Nakamara has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Nakamara is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Kure has escaped the position, nice work there.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Nakamara goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Kure rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Nakamara's guard! Nice work there by Kure!

Kure tries to stand but Nakamara is controlling from the bottom.

Kure decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Nakamara, up you get!
Kure seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.

Nakamara tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Krejzi Kure is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Kure misses with an uppercut.
Nakamara changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Kure swats away the attempt to clinch by Nakamara.
Nakamara closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

Nakamara wants to slow Kure down by chopping away at his legs.
A punch combination from Kure misses.
Nakamara tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Nakamara misses with a body kick.
Kure appears to be looking for a big counter.
Yoshido Nakamara seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kure misses with a hook. Nakamara ducked under it nicely.
And Nakamara tries to counter it with a takedown but Kure pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Kure looks to land a left hand but Nakamara moved out of range nicely.

That was a close second round but I would say that Krejzi Kure will probably get the nod.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Nakamara moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Kure throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Kure pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Nakamara back to the cage. Kure follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Nakamara moves out of range of the strikes.
Krejzi Kure is winning the standup battle so far.
Nakamara lands a head kick!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nakamara misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
A little feinted left hand from Kure on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Kure scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Nakamara doesn't seem bothered though.
Nakamara shoots in for a takedown but Kure shows good takedown defense.

Kure throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Kure feints a jab promting Nakamara to slip. Kure then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Nakamara slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Kure not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Nakamara lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Nakamara slips nicely into half guard.

Nakamara decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Kure will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Nakamara doesn't manage to clinch there - Kure circles away.
Kure is looking to counter punch.
Nakamara throws a head kick but Kure moves out of range.

Nakamara tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Kure swivels and escapes.
Krejzi Kure has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Yoshido Nakamara.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Kure, as that shot connected.
Kure throws a head kick but Nakamara moves out of range.
Nakamara looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Kure fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Nakamara manages to avoid it.

Nakamara fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Kure sprawls well initially but Nakamara persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Krejzi Kure is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Nakamara slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Nakamara is looking to take a break and control but Kure is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Nakamara throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Kure throws a leg kick but Nakamara moved away.
Yoshido Nakamara has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Kure ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Nakamara moves away.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Krejzi Kure.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Kure, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
