Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Adam Avo! The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Seu Braga and Felipe Paraventi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A combination from Joseph does no damage. Joseph gets a takedown into half guard. Avo is trying to maintain the position but Joseph is very close to passing his half guard. Joseph content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Avo trying to hold on to Joseph's head to control him but Joseph postures up.
Joseph not landing any meaningful shots this time. Avo actively working from the bottom here. Joseph missing with the ground and pound from half guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Joseph shoots in and bounces Avo off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Avo looks gassed! Avo working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Joseph doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Joseph manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Joseph wants to control from the top but Avo keeps moving. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Joseph is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Joseph has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Joseph drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Avo dives on top into guard. Avo is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Avo trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Joseph trying to keep a closed guard but Avo is proving a slippery customer.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Avo with a poor takedown and Joseph counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Avo thinking. Joseph stuns Avo with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Joseph shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Avo working a defensive guard but Joseph manages to pass into side control anyway.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Avo prevents Joseph from improving position. Avo should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Avo is trying to control Joseph's posture but Joseph avoids it. Avo misses with an elbow from the bottom. Avo is looking to reverse the position. Joseph closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Avo fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Joseph breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Joseph darts in and clinches Avo up against the cage. The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. Joseph has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Avo uses from the top position. Joseph working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Avo doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Joseph is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Joseph has escaped and now he's on top! Avo controls Joseph momentarily but Joseph frees himself. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Avo is looking for a triangle but Joseph pushes his legs off easily.
Joseph knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Avo on the ground. Joseph postures up and lands a big shot to Avo's brow. Joseph wants to control from the top but Avo keeps moving. Joseph is really struggling to control Avo but he's trying to hold on to the position. Avo looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Joseph passes into side control.
Joseph has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Joseph moves into range and clinches up with Avo. The referee calls for Joseph to work.
Joseph breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Joseph drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. An elbow from Joseph crashes against the mat.
Joseph working away. Avo is looking for a sweep. Joseph stands up and we're back to a striking position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Joseph scores with a takedown into Avo's guard. Joseph trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Joseph advances position into side control! Avo is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Joseph off and has taken his back! Joseph looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment. Avo sinks in the hooks and is looking for the choke. He's got it! Joseph taps out!
