Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Patrick Brody!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, The Machine!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Bruno Lombardi and Lou da Vinci.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brody throws a leg kick but Machine moved away.
Brody keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Brody has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Wild Card Training in the buildup to the fight.
Brody throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Brody throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Machine sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Machine flicks out a counter leg kick but Brody steps away.
Machine uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Brody.
Machine lands a body shot.
Brody swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Brody misses with a lunging right hand
and Machine counters with a nice uppercut.
Brody just misses with a punch to the body.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Machine! But no joy.
Brody looks to throw a body kick
and Machine counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Brody thows a leg kick but Machine checks it
and Machine makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Some wild striking there from Brody.
Brody misses the shot to the body.
Machine finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Machine misses with a kick to the body.
Brody shoots in but Machine avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Machine tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Brody was well out of range. Poor timing from Machine.
Brody drops down looking for a counter takedown but Machine sprawls and moves away.
Brody looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Machine is fending him off so far but Brody persists. Nope, Machine circles away and we're back to standing.
Brody backing away here, and Machine unleashes a leg kick that just misses.
Brody lands a jab to Machine's midsection.
Machine uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Brody.
Brody scores with a takedown into Machine's guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Brody accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Machine looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Brody slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Brody is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Machine knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Machine is looking to reverse the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Brody wants to control but Machine is keeping him busy.
Brody looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Brody swings around for an armbar but Machine sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Brody's guard.
Brody is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Machine frees his head nicely. Oh but Brody has switched to an armbar! Machine is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Armbar). Patrick Brody!
Patrick Brody retains his light heavyweight title!
A relieved looking Patrick Brody thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
The Machine spoke after the fight, saying '*crackling sounds* Can-not com-ply ...'.
