PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Donovan Rojas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johny Ruiz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Donovan Rojas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Johny Ruiz!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Chris Downing and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ruiz misses with a takedown attempt

and Rojas counters by clinching up.
Ruiz is trying to push Rojas away but Rojas has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Rojas has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Ruiz uses from the top position.

Rojas jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Ruiz walks away with a smile on his face. Rojas gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
