Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tony Mendez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, George Francis and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Karelin closes the distance and clinches up with Mendez, looking for a takedown. Karelin pushes Mendez against the cage but Mendez circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Mendez avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Karelin shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Mendez but Mendez pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Karelin throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Mendez's waist but Mendez gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Karelin off to one side.
Tony Mendez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alexei Karelin.
The fight stays on the outside here - Karelin looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Mendez shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Mendez showed some decent athleticism there.

Karelin wants to get back to full guard but Mendez has passed into side control.
Karelin is in a horrible position here. Mendez smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Mendez is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Karelin can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Mendez will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
