With a record of 14 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rick Patton!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Robert Twigg and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A looping hook to the body misses from Patton. Hansen does a little dance to reset his feet.
Patton connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Hansen's hands.
Patton circles away from the clinch attempt.
Patton throws a poor cross that misses
and Hansen counters with a nice uppercut.
Patton misses with a hook
and Hansen counters with a stiff right hand.
Patton lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Hansen at a distance.
Hansen looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Patton missing with a left hand there. Hansen was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Hansen was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Hansen takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Patton misses with an uppercut.
Patton misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Hansen.
Hansen half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Patton throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Hansen sees it coming and avoids it easily.

and Hansen counters with a two punch combo.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Nice defenses there by Hansen.
As Patton looks to move away, Hansen throws a big counter combo bu Patton just gets out of the way.
Patton rushes in with a sloppy looking punch

and Hansen counters with a single leg into guard. Patton didn't expect that.
Patton is trying to control the position from the bottom.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Patton wants to sweep here but Hansen controlling him for the moment.
Hansen is pushing down on Patton's leg trying to pass to half guard. Patton is fighting to maintain full guard but Hansen has managed to sneak the leg through.
Patton is controlling Hansen's trapped leg to prevent Hansen from advancing to side control.
Patton is looking to control Hansen's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Patton avoid being mounted?
Patton is looking to improve his position.
Hansen wants to control but Patton is keeping him busy.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hansen is working for a kimura but Patton is defending it quite comfortably.
Patton tries to roll over but Hansen keeps him under control.
Hansen trying to control from half guard but Patton is working away.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Patton won't allow Hansen to pass to mount.
Patton is not content to let Hansen control the position.
Patton wants to get back to full guard.

Hansen is working for a kimura but Patton is defending it quite comfortably.
Hansen passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Patton!
Hansen lands a couple of good shots and Patton has given up his back, trying to escape the position!
Patton is really stuck here.

Hansen has both hooks in and is working for a choke. Patton is in real trouble here. Hansen gets an arm under the chin and tightens the submission attempt... is this the end? Yes, Patton is tapping out! Hansen wins by rear naked choke!
