Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Dorsey Kline!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Viva Marquez!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Emerson Jorge and Alexandre Firmino.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kline gets tackled into the cage by Marquez. Marquez maintains the clinch.

Marquez tightens his grip and picks Kline up, before dumping him to the ground. Kline manages to land in guard.
Marquez is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Kline is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Marquez defends well.

Marquez is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Kline is surviving well by controlling Marquez's body position as best he can.

Let's hope that Marquez has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

It looks like Marquez might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
We're seeing a lot of stalling here from Marquez.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Marquez prevents Kline from getting the reversal.

Kline can't escape the position.

Marquez takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Marquez wants to finish this one by submission but Kline is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Marquez.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Viva Marquez showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. And we move into the final round!



Marquez shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Marquez showed some decent athleticism there.

Kline is flailing around like a fish out of water, trying to land strikes.

Marquez tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Kline is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

BOOM! Marquez connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Marquez has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Marquez has control of Kline's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Kline regains control of the situation pretty easily.
