Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ray Reilly (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Masakazu Aoki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Aoki has chosen Sandstorm by Darude as his entrance music. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
12 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ray Reilly! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
42 - 27 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Masakazu Aoki! The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Matheus Silva and Seu Braga.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Aoki uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Reilly. Reilly lunges at Aoki with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Aoki's hand. Aoki throws a sloppy head kick and Reilly moves out of range easily. A nice leg kick lands there from Aoki. Reilly swinging wildly here.
Aoki cracks Reilly with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Aoki tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Reilly paws at him with a jab and circles away. Reilly fires out a quick counter leg kick but Aoki just manages to avoid it. Aoki swings for the body but Reilly moves out of range.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Aoki missing with a left hand there. Reilly was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Reilly swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Reilly darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Aoki takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Aoki will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Aoki staying out of range there. Reilly lands a front kick. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Reilly throws a head kick that misses. Reilly moves out of range as Aoki throws a body kick.
Aoki has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Reilly scoring well with a low kick there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Reilly takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Aoki just misses with a punch to the body.

and Aoki counters with a one-two to the body. Reilly connects with a jab. Reilly scores with a leg kick.
Aoki has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Reilly. Reilly misses with a low kick. Reilly works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Jab by Reilly. Reilly connects with a jab. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Reilly ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Aoki moves away. Reilly is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. Aoki misses with a jab, cross combination.
Reilly throws a jab when Aoki was well out of range. Aoki throws a fast counter high kick but Reilly manages to duck under it in time. Reilly misses the shot to the body. Aoki is looking to clinch. Aoki fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Aoki takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Reilly fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Aoki has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Aoki throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Reilly on the side of the head. Reilly looks to score with a jab to the body but Aoki is just out of range. Reilly goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. A little jabbing left from Aoki on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Aoki throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Aoki ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Reilly moves away. Reilly has been working on his boxing with his coaches at The Warehouse in the buildup to the fight. Aoki lands a nice shot that snaps Reilly's head back.
Aoki looking to score a takedown here. Reilly is defending well but Aoki drives through and ends up in Reilly's guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Aoki throws a big elbow that misses. Aoki wants to pass the guard but Reilly is keeping the position. Aoki controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Reilly trying to keep a closed guard but Aoki is proving a slippery customer.
Aoki has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Aoki sitting in guard here, content to control. Aoki is looking to work some ground and pound but Reilly has wrist control. Aoki trying to control but Reilly is working from the bottom.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Reilly throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Aoki counters with a lovely straight right hand! Reilly lands with a hook. Aoki tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Reilly misses with a series of wild punches.
A telegraphed right hand from Aoki misses the target. Reilly is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

Aoki throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body. Ray Reilly is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Aoki shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Reilly but Reilly pushes him off and we're back to square one. Aoki waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Reilly. Reilly is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Aoki. Aoki shoots in but no luck this time. Ray Reilly has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Masakazu Aoki. Aoki misses with a hook. Aoki tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. A quick step to the side and Reilly tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect. Reilly tries to clinch there but Aoki circles away.
Nice uppercut lands for Reilly. That snapped Aoki's head back.
Reilly is really peppering his opponent's head with punches. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Aoki blocks a head kick by Reilly.
A swing and a miss from Aoki. Aoki gets a double leg takedown into Reilly's guard. Aoki slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Masakazu Aoki will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Aoki keeps the fight on the outside. Aoki throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Reilly throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Aoki sees it coming and avoids it easily. Aoki thuds a left hand into Reilly's body. The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky. Reilly digs a good body shot into Aoki's ribs. Aoki tries a head kick but it misses.
Reilly fires out a quick counter leg kick but Aoki just manages to avoid it. Reilly throws a leg kick that misses. Reilly moves out of range as Aoki strikes. Aoki's jab looks to have found its range, popping Reilly under the eye. Aoki on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Reilly has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Aoki finds it's way round the side to connect with Reilly's head. Aoki misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Reilly throws a quick counter head kick but Aoki was just out of range. Aoki moves away from the strike by Reilly. Aoki lands a right hook to the body.
Aoki shoots in and drives through. Reilly sprawls well. Reilly was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Reilly takes a swing at Aoki's ribcage but misses. Ray Reilly is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Reilly lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
That's one minute gone in the round. Aoki has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Reilly. Aoki is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Reilly. Reilly throws a right hand that Aoki ducks under and follows up with a left that Aoki also avoids with ease. Aoki avoids the body shot from Reilly.
A jab from Aoki finds it's way through Reilly's defenses. Reilly throws a nice outside leg kick. Reilly takes one to the chin there. Reilly throws a body punch but Aoki moves out of range. Aoki throws a hook to the side of Reilly's head but Reilly sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Aoki defending well as Reilly loads up on a big left hand. Reilly blocks a leg kick. Aoki throws a head kick but Reilly moves out of range.
Aoki slips under a jab. Reilly lands with a hook. Aoki tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Ray Reilly is winning the standup battle so far. A jab from Reilly does it's job there. Aoki uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
That's two minutes gone in the round. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Aoki tries to bum rush Reilly with a series of wild strikes but Reilly uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Nice defenses there by Aoki. Aoki scores with a hook to the body. Reilly takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. A big right from Reilly misses. Reilly looks to score with a jab to the body but Aoki is just out of range. Reilly displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Aoki. Reilly throws a leg kick that is checked and Reilly takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Reilly uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Aoki. Aoki stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Reilly. Reilly throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Aoki fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Aoki misses with an uppercut. Reilly moves out of range as Aoki strikes. Reilly scores to the head and body with a nice combination! Aoki misses with a straight right. Aoki displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Reilly throws out the jab.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Reilly jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Reilly lands a nice looking body kick. Aoki looks for the body kick but Reilly saw that one coming. Reilly chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Aoki looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Reilly is looking to counter punch. Reilly scores with a nice strike. A slow jab from Aoki misses its intended target. Aoki misses with a leg kick and Reilly makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Aoki really felt that one! Reilly clinches up with Aoki and pushes him back against the cage. Reilly misses with a shot to the kidneys.

Reilly scores with a decent looking hook. Aoki gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Reilly fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Aoki, pushing him back against the cage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Reilly fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Reilly is trying to break the clinch but Aoki has him pressed against the cage. Aoki tries to pull guard but Reilly won't allow it.
Ray Reilly has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Masakazu Aoki. Reilly misses with some punches.

Reilly is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Aoki is keeping busy. Aoki's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down. Aoki escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Reilly misses with the combination.
Aoki throws out a counter right but Reilly avoids it with no problem. Reilly gets caught napping as Aoki dives in and scores a takedown. Reilly manages to retain guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Ray Reilly will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!
No luck with that takedown attempt from Aoki. Aoki ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Aoki avoids the head kick by Reilly.
Aoki dives in and scores a takedown into Reilly's guard. Aoki throws a big right hand that misses. Aoki is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Reilly tries to land a sweep but no joy.
That's one minute gone in the round. Aoki looking to sit in guard and control but Reilly gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Aoki is trying to keep Reilly in close.
Reilly wants to stand and escape but instead Aoki has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Reilly working a defensive guard here.
Aoki keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Reilly's head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Reilly is trying to hold Aoki in close to prevent damage but Aoki has managed to pass into half guard.
Aoki working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Reilly's thigh. Reilly counters though and makes it back to full guard. Reilly keeping moving, preventing Aoki from controlling successfully. Aoki might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Reilly haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Aoki postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Aoki trying to control but Reilly is working from the bottom. Reilly avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Aoki won't allow Reilly to sweep him here.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Nice body kick from Reilly. Aoki closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Reilly quickly recovers to half guard. Aoki tries to pass the half guard into mount. Reilly knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Reilly is refusing to be controlled, as Aoki sits in half guard. Aoki sitting and controlling from the half guard. Aoki wants to lay and pray for a moment but Reilly keeps working. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
And that's the end of the fight! Masakazu Aoki comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Aoki has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
