Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Bragi Ragnarson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jacare Romero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bragi Ragnarson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jacare Romero! The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Columbo Gatti and John Kavanagh.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Romero misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Romero tries to score a power double leg takedown but Ragnarson sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Romero somewhat. Ragnarson half committed to a counter leg kick. Romero misses with a looping left. Romero drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Romero scoring with punches to the head and body. Romero trying to control the position from guard on top but Ragnarson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Ragnarson keeping full guard, as Romero tries to pass.
That's one minute gone in the round. Romero is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Romero is stalling in the full guard. Romero with a flurry of punches that miss. Romero throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Ragnarson works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Romero has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Romero loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Romero showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Ragnarson keeping full guard, as Romero tries to pass. Romero slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Romero wants to take a breather but Ragnarson manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Romero. Romero wants to control from the top but Ragnarson keeps moving.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Romero working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Romero controlling from the top position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Romero throws a big elbow that misses. Ragnarson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Romero on the ground. Romero throws a big right hand that misses. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Romero accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Ragnarson gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Romero with a flurry of punches that miss.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Romero throws a big right hand that misses. Ragnarson working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Romero. Romero throws a big right hand that misses. God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Romero accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Jacare Romero dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Romero cracks Ragnarson with an open hand slap. Ragnarson throws a quick inside leg kick. Romero shoots for a takedown but Ragnarson saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Romero shoots in and gets a takedown into Ragnarson's guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Romero throwing strikes but missing. Ragnarson keeping moving, preventing Romero from controlling successfully. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Romero advances position into side control! Romero has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Ragnarson is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Romero yanks on the arm and Ragnarson is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Romero.
