Chelios comes into the arena with In Waves blaring out of the sound system. The crowd seem to be enjoying Van Der Sluijs's choice of entrance music: Shutterbugg - Big Boi Feat. Cutty. The judges for this bout are Ben Watson, Steve Erwin and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chelios throws a sloppy head kick and Van Der Sluijs moves out of range easily.
Chelios takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Van Der Sluijs lands a jab to Chelios's midsection.
Van Der Sluijs scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Van Der Sluijs shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Chelios's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Chelios scrambles and gets back to his feet.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Chelios enables Van Der Sluijs to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Chelios manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
