Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joan Wells (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rod Mynod (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rod Mynod has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 1, fighting out of London, Joan Wells! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Rod Mynod! The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Andrew Berry and Phil Schofield.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wells takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
It looks like Joan Wells has been cut. Mynod fails with a takedown attempt. Wells shoots in and drives through. Mynod sprawls well. Mynod tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Wells counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Mynod! Wells looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Sloppy strikes there by Wells. Wells in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. Wells thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Wells is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Mynod is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wells is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Mynod knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Wells in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. Mynod is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Wells asserts his dominance and retains side control. Wells in side control lands a decent elbow.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Wells is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Mynod has escaped the position, nice work there. Wells will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Wells working away. Wells working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Wells throwing strikes but Mynod manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control! Mynod looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Wells tries to strike but it doesn't land.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wells misses with a strike from the bottom. Wells tries to escape but Mynod is in control. Wells regains half guard. Wells is looking to improve his position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mynod is trying to control. Wells wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Wells holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Well, if Mynod is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Mynod wants to lay and pray for a moment but Wells keeps working. Wells has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Wells throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Wells tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Mynod swivels and escapes. Mynod misses with a shot to the body and Wells counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Mynod is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Wells circles away from the clinch attempt.
Wells swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Joan Wells dominated that round. The cut man is working on Joan Wells's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Wells rushes Mynod and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Wells has picked Mynod up - he's going for a ride! Wells dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. Wells is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Mynod sees it coming and defends easily. Wells is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Mynod has managed to free his arm - good work. Mynod is looking for a sweep. Wells is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Wells looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Mynod with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Wells not landing any meaningful shots this time. Wells lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Wells misses with a head shot. Mynod uses the momentum to regain guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Wells accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Joan Wells overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Wells got a little sloppy there for a moment and Mynod has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Wells has managed to get both his arms back between Mynod's legs - danger averted. Wells gets to his feet. Mynod looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Wells stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Wells wants it to stay on the feet. The fighters circling - Wells throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Wells moves into range and clinches up with Mynod. Wells tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Wells is working for takedown but Mynod is calmly controlling the position for now. Mynod should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Wells pulls guard successfully.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wells looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Wells bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Mynod's guard. Mynod working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Wells. Mynod wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Wells is now in half guard. Mynod is looking to regain full guard. He's left an arm up in the air though and Wells has latched onto it... Big trouble! Wells pivots for an armbar - it's in tight and it Mynod is tapping in no time flat! Great counter grappling there from Wells!
