The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Some wild striking there from Maczuga.
Smith shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Maczuga as he jumps to the side.
An attempted straight right counter from Maczuga misses the target.
Smith changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Maczuga looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The strikes coming from Smith are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Maczuga regains half guard, as Smith was trying to land strikes.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Smith looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
It looks like Artur Maczuga has been cut.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Smith with the ground and pound but Maczuga uses the opportunity to regain guard.
Maczuga wants to get back to his feet but Smith is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
