Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Thiago Shilva! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Mike Tyson! The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Sandra Marshall and Santiago Holmes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Tyson, as that shot connected.
Tyson uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Shilva.
Shilva tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Tyson paws at him with a jab and circles away. Tyson unleashes a big counter combination but Shilva bobs and weaves and avoids any damage. Tyson takes a swing at Shilva's ribcage but misses. Tyson looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Tyson uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Shilva. Tyson throws a counter combo. Shilva wants to clinch up but Tyson keeps it at a distance. Shilva with a body punch. A glancing blow. Shilva misses with a wild body shot. Tyson misses with a jab, cross combination.
Tyson throws a right and a left that Shilva avoids nicely. Shilva looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Shilva misses with a wild body shot. The crowd cheers as Tyson lands an impressive looking overhand right. Shilva doesn't seem phased though.
It looks like Thiago Shilva has been cut. Nice sprawl there from Tyson as Shilva shoots in. Tyson has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tyson misses with a combination
and Shilva counters with a straight right hand. Tyson looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Tyson dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Shilva wants to clinch but Tyson slips to the side and Tyson connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Tyson will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Tyson connects with a good right hand that stumbles Shilva. Shilva circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Shilva throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Shilva looks to clinch and Tyson counters with a huge left! Shilva is in big trouble! He's backing up but Tyson isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Shilva from any more damage. A dominating finish by Tyson!
