The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sloppy strikes from Wick. Those never looked like landing.
Bernard tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Wick manages to circle out of the way.
Bernard avoids a punch combination nicely.

An attempted straight right counter from Bernard misses the target.

Wick manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Bernard on his heels. He'll look to pass Bernard's guard now, I'm sure.

Bernard has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Wick can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Wick has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Bernard uses from the top position.

Wick has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Bernard clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Wick throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Wick feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Bernard will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Wick is controlling Bernard's trapped leg to prevent Bernard from advancing to side control.
Wick has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Bernard is working away from the top position though.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Wick throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

As Wick tries to get set, Bernard tries to push him back and clinch up but Wick manages to avoid the attempt.
Wick lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Oh Bernard is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Wick feints a kick and comes over the top with a right hand, followed by a left hook - both land, sending Bernard crashing to the mat! This one is all over!
