Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ryan Beltshazar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mustafa Shabazz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Ryan Beltshazar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Mustafa Shabazz!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Sandra Marshall and Santiago Holmes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shabazz dodges the punch combination from Beltshazar.
A shot to the body from Beltshazar misses
and Shabazz counters with a slapping leg kick.

Beltshazar lands a left and a right that send Shabazz crashing to the mat, dazed. Beltshazar thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Beltshazar fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.

Beltshazar fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
A nice side step and Shabazz releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Shabazz has closed the distance and engaged Beltshazar in a clinch.
Beltshazar wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Beltshazar wants to break the clinch but can't.

Shabazz lands an uppercut.
Beltshazar on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Shabazz has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Shabazz has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Beltshazar clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Well, with Shabazz on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Beltshazar is tapping out... Can he escape the position?
You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.

Shabazz seems to be going for a rear naked choke. He has an arm under Beltshazar's chin but Beltshazar turns very nicely into Shabazz's guard. Good BJJ skills being displayed there by Beltshazar.

Shabazz is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Beltshazar defends well.

Mustafa Shabazz dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Despite the aggression on Shabazz's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Beltshazar is looking light on his feet compared to last time was saw him fight.
Shabazz uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Beltshazar.

Sloppy strikes from Beltshazar. Those never looked like landing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Shabazz has taken the fight to the clinch.

Shabazz has Beltshazar pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Shabazz pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Beltshazar tumbling to the mat - Shabazz dives into Beltshazar's guard.

Shabazz is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Beltshazar is just riding it out for now. Shabazz eventually gives up the hold.

Shabazz is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Beltshazar doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Shabazz.

Beltshazar is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Shabazz gets his way!

Mustafa Shabazz showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Shabazz wants to pass to mount but Beltshazar is defending the position.

Beltshazar looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.
Beltshazar wants to get back to his feet.

Shabazz has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Beltshazar has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
I really don't envy Beltshazar right now.
A lull in the action here.

Shabazz looking to break Beltshazar's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Beltshazar remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Shabazz will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

Shabazz is looking for the choke from the back position but Beltshazar is controlling his hands well.

Shabazz is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Beltshazar is defending well though. Shabazz let's go of the attempt for now.

Shabazz has got one arm under Beltshazar's chin. This could be trouble... Beltshazar trying to control the other hand but Shabazz gets it free and sqeezes tight - just a matter of time now! Yep, Beltshazar has tapped out! The fight is over!
