Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between David Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bob Probert (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Smith comes to the cage accompanied by I Am The Law. The crowd seem to be enjoying Probert's choice of entrance music: Suffer, Conquer - Throwdown. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, David Smith!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bob Probert!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Lou da Vinci and Russell Pearce.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Probert throws a chopping leg kick but Smith manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Smith misses with a few strikes there.
Smith checks a low kick from Probert.
Smith swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Probert ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Smith moves away.
Probert waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Smith.
Smith keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
It looked like Smith wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Probert.
Smith misses with a looping right.
The crowd cheers as Probert lands an impressive looking overhand right. Smith doesn't seem phased though.
Smith jabs Probert to the body, keeping him at a distance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Probert connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Probert lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Smith missing with a left hand there. Probert was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Smith swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Probert looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Smith fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Probert needs to keep his hands up - Smith had a free shot at his head there.


It looks like Bob Probert has been cut.
Probert scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Smith looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Smith throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Probert throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Smith has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Smith loads up on a big right hand but Probert slips the punch.
Smith throws the left hand but Probert avoids the punch easily.
Probert throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Probert works Smith's body with a nice hook.
Smith misses with a left hand
and Probert counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Smith clobbers Probert with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Smith thuds his right hand into Probert's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Probert lands with a thumping leg kick.
Probert connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Smith's hands.
Smith wants to clinch up but Probert keeps it at a distance.

Probert misses with a lunging right hand
and Smith counters with a nice uppercut.
Probert on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Probert misses with a hook.
Probert misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Smith.
Smith misses with an uppercut.
Smith throws a body shot but no joy.
Smith throws a leg kick
and Probert counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Probert throws a leg kick that misses.
A telegraphed right hand from Probert misses the target.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Probert.
Smith swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
It seemed like Probert was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Probert looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Smith looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Smith avoids a punch combination nicely.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Smith goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Smith, right into the meat.
Probert lands a nice leg kick that just misses Smith's sensitive parts.
Probert lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Smith scores with a crisp jab that stopped Probert in his tracks.


Probert is rocked!
Probert has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off.
Smith darts in and lands a big hook, right on the button! Probert's legs crumble underneath him as he falls to the canvas! The ref tackles Smith before he gets to land any more shots to his stricken foe.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). David Smith!
David Smith seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
