Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Nick Dick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Martin Riggs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Riggs is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Dre Day by DR. DRE. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Riggs swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Dick.

It looks like Nick Dick has been cut.
Riggs lunges at Dick with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Dick's hand.
Riggs just misses with a punch to the body.
Dick shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Riggs as he jumps to the side.
Riggs misses with a few strikes there.
Dick changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Riggs swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Dick closes this distance looking for a takedown but Riggs circles away.
Dick darts in looking for a takedown but Riggs gets double underhooks and turns Dick into the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nick Dick. That's going to take a lot out of him.

and Dick counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Dick.

Dick has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Riggs has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

Riggs breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Riggs sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Dick loads up with a big shot that hurts Riggs! He's pulled Dick in close but Dick has postured up and lands more strikes. Can Riggs survive? More strikes from Dick and Riggs is out! The ref jumps in to save him! Brutal ground and pound!
