Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Roberto Fantastico!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Cat McHatt!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Chad Campbell and Dean Styles.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

McHatt closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - McHatt lands in his opponent's guard.
Fantastico has a closed guard, preventing McHatt from standing up.
McHatt pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Fantastico is keeping the position for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

McHatt shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than McHatt was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Fantastico can't escape the position.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, McHatt cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

McHatt working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
McHatt really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Fantastico. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Fantastico in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
McHatt prevents Fantastico from getting the reversal.
Fantastico tries to hold on but McHatt pushes him away.

Fantastico is trying to reverse the position but instead McHatt has taken his back - oops!
McHatt doesn't have the hooks in and Fantastico manages to turn into his guard.

McHatt is looking for a triangle but Fantastico pushes his legs off easily.
McHatt looks gassed!

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

McHatt darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Fantastico wants to control but McHatt is keeping busy.

McHatt prevents Fantastico from improving his position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Fantastico manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Fantastico slows the pace down in half guard.
McHatt is trying to stand up here but Fantastico is controlling him well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Fantastico looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Fantastico with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cat McHatt dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


McHatt shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Fantastico pinned against the cage. Fantastico gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from McHatt.
The fight stays on the outside here - McHatt looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
No luck for McHatt with that takedown attempt.
Roberto Fantastico has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Cat McHatt.

McHatt lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
McHatt fails with the takedown.
McHatt is breathing heavily.
A slapping body kick lands there for McHatt.
Fantastico looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
McHatt gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Fantastico counters with a nice double leg into side control. McHatt won't be happy with that.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Fantastico wants to control but McHatt is keeping him busy.

Fantastico tries for a kimura but McHatt is defending well.
Fantastico postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

Fantastico goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, McHatt rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Fantastico's guard! Nice work there by McHatt!

Fantastico looking for submissions from the bottom but instead McHatt passes into half guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
McHatt trying to control the action but Fantastico is working from the bottom.
Fantastico has a hand on McHatt's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. McHatt takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!
McHatt controlling the pace for now.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
McHatt thowing shots but they're missing.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Roberto Fantastico dominated that second round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


McHatt lands a front kick.
A kick lands to the mid section there for McHatt.
McHatt throws a nice head kick!
McHatt misses with a takedown

and Fantastico counters with a shoot takedown. McHatt fights it but they end up in guard.
McHatt not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Fantastico throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as McHatt works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

McHatt is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Roberto Fantastico overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Fantastico with a flurry of punches that miss.

McHatt looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Fantastico passes McHatt's left leg - he's now in half guard.
McHatt gets back to full guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Fantastico in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. McHatt tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Fantastico!
