Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Shannon Page!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jim Hagan!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, John Roberts and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hagan leaves Page with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Page forces Hagan back against the cage and clinches.

Hagan successfully pulls guard.
Page throwing strikes but missing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Page being controlled here momentarily.
Page works over Hagan with some ground and pound from guard.

Page is looking to work some ground and pound but Hagan has wrist control.
Page throwing strikes from guard but Hagan blocks nicely.
Hagan pulls Page in close to prevent any damage.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Hagan has Page pulled in close to control his posture.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Hagan fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Page sprawls well initially but Hagan persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Hagan trying to control the action but Page is working from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Page has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Hagan is working away from the top position though.
Hagan thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Page's head.
Page is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Page might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Hagan won't allow Page to get back to his feet.

Page manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Hagan manages to get himself to full guard.

Hagan controls Page momentarily but Page frees himself.
Page wants to control from the top but Hagan keeps moving.
Hagan avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Hagan working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Page.
Hagan seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Page circles away from the clinch attempt
and Page counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Page gets a clinch.

Hagan is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Page can't fight it off and eventually Hagan manages to take the fight to the floor. Page looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Jim Hagan will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!



Hagan fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Page to the ground. Hagan is now in Page's guard.
Hagan throws a big elbow that misses.
Page wants to sweep here but Hagan controlling him for the moment.
Hagan content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Hagan has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hagan connects with a couple of short punches.
Hagan looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Hagan keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Page's head.
Hagan is pushing down on Page's leg trying to pass to half guard. Page is fighting to maintain full guard but Hagan has managed to sneak the leg through.
Hagan is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Hagan lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Page hang on?

Page is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Hagan cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
A big strike lands for Hagan! That's really hurt Page and he's turned his back - Hagan keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Hagan jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:47 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jim Hagan!
